Makeup Hacks I Learned from Tik Tok
Tik Tok has been the new go-to for hilarious content, but it’s also been a platform for bloggers to provide all of their tutorials, glimpse into their favorite products, and life hacks, and these makeup hacks are true game-changers. Here’s how to step up your makeup routine with the help of famous Tik Tokers.
Foundation
Lips
Brows
Contour
Sunscreen
Self-Tanner
This is one for the books, providing a glowy finish that lasts throughout your whole day. Honestly, the difference will have you never going back to your old makeup routine ever again.
Here’s How:
Step 1: Moisturizer
Moisturize your entire face with your preferred product.
Step 2: Translucent Powder
Apply a light coat of translucent powder, brushing it lightly all over your face.
Step 3: Setting Spray
Mist on your preferred setting spray and wait for it to dry.
Step 4: Primer
Take one to two pumps of your preferred primer onto fingers and dab evenly all over your face.
Step 5: Foundation
Apply your foundation (highly recommend using a beauty blender to apply) like you normally would.
Skip the fillers. This hack will give you the appearance of fuller lips without the costly expense. Kylie Jenner even uses this technique on top of her lip fillers.
Here’s How:
Step 1: Lip Liner
Take a lip liner and outline the lip just outside your lip line.
Tik Toker is using KKW Nude 1.
Step 2: Lipstick
Apply a shade of lipstick that matches the lip liner shade, covering the entire lip.
MAC’s Dandy Apple Lipstick has been discontinued. Try Sephora’s Lipstories Lipstick in the shade Tan Lines (06) instead.
Step 3: Shiny Lipstick or Lip Gloss
Apply a shade of a shiny lipstick or lipgloss for a more natural look.
MAC’s Look Both Ways Lipstick has been discontinued. Try Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipstick in the shade Bare Affair instead.
Fill in your brows this way to get an all-natural look.
Here’s how:
Step 1: Apply Brow Gel
Apply your brow gel first and brush the hairs in an upward motion.
Step 2: Apply Brow Pencil in Strokes
Make hair-like strokes only on the bottom part of the brow.
Tik Toker is using Urban Decay’s Brow Blade on the Ink Stain side.
Let the sun do all the work to create a naturally contoured face.
Here’s how:
Step 1: Apply SPF 30 Base
Apply a base of SPF 30 onto your entire face.
Step 2: Apply SPF 90 to Highlighted Areas
Apply SPF 90 onto the areas of your face that you would usually place highlighter, such as under your eyes, between your eyebrows, the bridge of your nose, chin, and face line.
While this Tik Toker doesn’t believe this Tik Tok trend will actually work, she’s surprised by the end results when she ends up with a semi-permanent contoured look.
Here’s how:
Step 1: Apply Self-Tanner
Apply the self-tanner with a contour brush to all areas of your face that you would not highlight, like the edges of the bridge of your nose, in between your cheekbones and jaw, and both corners of your forehead.
Tik Toker is using the brane Bondi Sands Self-Tanning Mist, but recommends to stay away from the mist and use something easier to apply, like Bondi Sands Self-Tanning Lotion or Foam.
Step 2: Leave Overnight
Let the self-tanner sit overnight as you sleep.
Step 3: Exfoliate
When you wake up in the morning, wash and exfoliate your face like you usually would.
